At The Tropicalista, we are mindful that our activities might have an impact on both the physical environment and the communities we visit, both in Panama and the rest of the world. We strive to reduce any negative impact as much as we can.
We follow the basic practices that any responsible traveler should be doing, such as minimizing the use of resources, recycling what we can, using sustainable and local products, repairing rather than replacing. We aim to bring our team involved in our quest to minimize any negative impacts caused by traveling.
Moreover, we have identified some ways that we can minimize any burden on the environment and communities by our travels and the rest of our activities in the following ways:
Travel
We minimize the need to travel wherever possible, however, the nature of our business requires us to move around Panama and Central America. We strive to use fuel-efficient vehicles and promote them to the minimal, including car-pooling or using public transport.
We travel by land wherever possible, but when air travel is required, we look to book direct flights, rather than stop-overs, minimizing our CO2 footprint.
Education
We incorporate environmental and social awareness into our activities. From using the least amount of plastic during our explorations into preaching this practice wherever we go.
Travel Recommendations
We’ll always recommend first all companies and businesses whose operation is based on a for-benefit model. A for-benefit model will place the integrity of communities, the environment, and people before profit.
Purchasing
We strive to purchase all of our needs and services from like-minded organisations who work to benefit both the environment and value community welfare. We request obligation from our providers, working just with individuals who comprehend their social and natural duties. Any place conceivable our correspondence with the both providers and customers will utilize no consumable items, such as, paper, or plastic.
So, we accept that a cleaner, more beneficial and more equivalent future starts with the choices we as a whole make each day. We are continually endeavoring to improve how we utilize nature’s assets and searching for approaches to utilize our business to improve the lives of others.
